Croatia is beautiful and the tour was well organized and good value for money. Unfortunately it rained every second day, (in May), we caught colds and haven't yet recovered our sense of taste or smell! No fault of Wingbuddy or Croatia, of course, "just saying..."

Day 1: Canada - Zagreb (Croatia)

Day 3: Zagreb - Plitvice

After breakfast at the hotel, half-day guided city tour of Zagreb, Croatia's largest city. You will visit the fortified Upper Town built around St Mark's Church, constructed in the 13th century and famous for its multicoloured roof. The Lesser Town distinguished itself by the Austro-Hungarian architecture from the 18th and 19th century, especially in the historical center where the Croatian National Theatre is a notable example. Overlooking the city center with its two bell towers of over 100m each, the neo-Gothic cathedral will take your breath away with its detailed facade and beautiful interior. Departure for Plitvice in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in the Plitvice area. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 4: Plitvice

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will visit the world-famous Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sixteen lakes, each at a different level, are joined in a series of spectacular waterfalls all in mesmerizing shades of blue. Surrounded by dense forest, the site of Plitvice Lakes is of rare beauty. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Plitvice. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 5: Plitvice - Dubrovnik

Following breakfast at the hotel, departure southward to Dubrovnik. You will make a short stop in the village of Trilj, a strategic place in Central Dalmatia which was once the most important passage over the powerful river Cetina. The best evidence of Trilj's turbulent history is the old Croatian fort of Nutjak overlooking the magnificent canyon. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 6: Dubrovnik

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a full day at leisure to discover the beautiful medieval city of Dubrovnik, often dubbed the "Pearl of the Adriatic". Located on the southern tip of Dalmatia and facing the Adriatic Sea, the city is famous for its distinctive and well-preserved Old Town encircled with massive stone walls completed in the 16th century. Start your exploration by walking on the city walls while observing local life below. Wander around the narrow cobbled streets of the medieval Old Town. Take on a short boat ride to Lokrum island and discover the Benedictine monastery from the 11th century and the botanical gardens. In the late afternoon, visit the Fort Imperial, located at the top of the low mountain behind the walled city, from where you will witness an unforgettable sunset. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 7: Dubrovnik - Split

After breakfast, half-day guided city tour of Dubrovnik Old Town, whose ensemble was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Its best-preserved buildings range from the baroque St. Blaise Church to the Renaissance Sponza Palace and the Gothic Rector’s Palace, now a history museum. Paved with limestone, the Stradun is the main commercial street with bars, restaurants and souvenir shops bustling on each side. You will visit the Franciscan monastery including Europe’s third oldest pharmacy, the Rector's Palace and the Cathedral. Departure to Split in the afternoon, driving along the beautiful Adriatic Coast and the Neretva River Delta. Dinner and overnight in Split. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 8: Split - Trogir - Zadar

Following breakfast at the hotel, half-day guided city tour of Split, known for its beaches and Diocletian's Palace, a huge complex erected by the Roman emperor in the 4th century. Once home to thousands, its sprawling remains include more than 200 buildings. You will visit Diocletian's Palace with the Peristyle, Jupiter’s Temple and the Cathedral. Then, departure to Trogir, a picturesque medieval town where you will visit the 13th-century Cathedral of St. Lawrence. Dinner and overnight in Zadar. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 9: Zadar - Zagreb

You will visit the ruins of the Roman Forum and St. Donatus Church, a beautiful example of roman architecture founded in the 9th century. There are several Venetian gates in the city walls, the most famous being Landward Gate, built to protect the city and to celebrate military victories over the Ottoman Empire. Departure toward Zagreb.
